(21) Roly of hang
With reference to Colonial Office letter of the
15th February 1933, No.13709/23, in connection with the
Royal Naval Hospital, Hong Kong, I am commanded by My
Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to acquaint you,
for the information of the secretary of State for the
Colonies, that My Lords note that the Government of
Hong Kong will permit their offer of the site for the
new Hospital to remain open until the 31st March 1934,
and the Commander-in-Chief has been requested to surrender
the portion of the site of the existing Hospital
required for the rebuilding of Wanchai Market.
2.
My Lords now learn that the Government of Hong
Kong are agreeable that the option should be renewable
from year to year up to a total period not exceeding
ten years, provided that if at any time the Government
require either the new or existing site for disposal or
otherwise the Admiralty shall come to a decision before
the end of that year's option. In view of the urgency
of other Naval requirements involving large expenditure,
The Under Secretary of State,
